The owners of this home wished to open and expand the back of their existing period terraced house.
A rear and side-infill extension to the original L-shaped plan made best use of the full width of the property. A long, continuous skylight juxtaposes the new ceiling to the old while brightening the deepest internal spaces.
Using minimal, uninterrupted internal lines and surfaces, a clean and spacious affect is achieved. A continuous floor level from inside to outside plus a well-considered external lighting strategy makes the space feel larger and connects it to the garden beyond.
