This proposal for a new house which bridges across a stream is located within the subdivision of an existing property in a 1970s residential development. The site sits adjacent to a conservation area where there is considerable variety in the surrounding architecture and village context.
Our intention was that the proposed dwelling should respond to both the contour of the landscape and the neighbouring street frontage. Varying layers of permeable and solid screening give definition and privacy to generous areas of glazing and external spaces.
